Baby Bed Dangers...Beware Parents...

I thought I would write a quick little blog on this because I am super paranoid about baby beds now.  My 17 month old daughter was 13 months old when this incident occurred.  She woke from a nap screaming, which is nothing out of the ordinary for her once she wants out her bed, she wants out like yesterday.  So when I go to get her out, imagine how shocked I was to see my daughters leg stuck in between the boards of the bed.  Holy Cow!!!  I was panic stricken and thankfully my husband was home on rest and relation or I don't know what I would have done. I screamed for him and there he was, also shocked.  Her leg had became wedged to the point even when she laid down to relax we could not get it removed.  (Now this baby bed was fairly new just purchased a few months prior to the incident, so I know it was built with strict regulations.)

I have six kids, I mean on my fifth one this happened.  One in five kids seems like a pretty high risk to me, that means there is a 20% risk of your growing toddlers leg getting stuck.  If my husband had not been here I do believe I would have gotten the jigsaw out and cut the bed apart, seriously.  She was in distress, so was I, and it ended up bruising her leg some.  Beware!  Now my 17 month old sleeps in a pack in play until she is ready for a big girl bed.  Yeah that seems weird, but for now, it seems like the safe alternative.
