Homemade Baby Food...It's Quick, Easy, and Cheap!

Product: Mini Food Chopper (1.5 cup capacity)
Price: $15 or less
Rating: Must have!!!
Purchase Date: 2004

I have owned two of these over the years, both cheap, no names, bought at Christmas time.  They were like the $5 specials at Christmas.  I use them for chopping up fresh veggies all the time, however it occured to me about 2 years ago to start chopping chicken and other various items in it because it can chop so finely.  Oh, it has been such a blessing since then.  You can chop chicken fine enough to feed to your baby, not puree but good enough to feed to a 9 month old, and as they get older you can chop it less and less.  Everything we had for dinner so did my babies.  I would do the same when I was babysitting, chop up chicken nuggets and mix with mashed potatoes, yeah seriously!  Spaghetti was a favorite and macaroni and cheese as well, just add a little liquid to anything to make it thinner.  Green beans, peas, carrots, I would cook them till they were extremely tender and then chop away.  You figure babyfood anywhere from 50 cent to 1.00 a jar.  Now you can make your own for a fraction of the price, and freeze, refrigerate it, or make it fresh!!!

Wow, after my sixth kid someone has finally invented a less messy way to get food from the baby food jar to my babies mouth without squirting it directly in their mouth using a feeder.  This is sheer genious, I give it five stars, it is dishwasher safe, excellent for travel, I use it everytime I feed my daughter, I just ordered a second to keep at grandmas!  You just gently squeeze and the food squirts out the tip to fill the spoon, as little or much as you want.  It unscrews into two pieces, no leaks :D, and holds approx 4 ounces.  I also like that my little Lillian can even grab my hand and the spoon without making a mess and I don't have to keep redipping in the jar.  Everyone that has used this or seen me use it is just in awe!
