LeapFrog offers a huge selection of learning products.  It is hard to know which toy is right for your child, when there are so many out there to choose from.  I am not just just referring to LeapFrog, The whole market can be overwhelming.  Especially when it comes to "educational" gaming.


This system offers hours of play and can have a headset plugged into it so you don't have to listen to it on trips.  The game selection is awesome, and they are all educational.  We have owned 2 versions and up to 3 of these at one time.

The Leapster 2 system can be plugged to your computer for play if you have an existing internet connection. The system is durable and extremely light compared to the previous model. Our screen did get scuffed up pretty quickly.  There is another version of Leapster(I believe it is just the older version, but you can still buy it new, click here or the photograph at left bottom).  Now you will pay more for this version, but it actually has a cover that goes over the screen when not in play and if I recall right the screen is just a tad larger, system is heavier.  tip for both: buy rechargeable battery packs


I give this product a 4 outta 5 because it was only a few months before my children lost interest and were interested in a siblings big kid DS system.
